SEBBY, CGC

If you see Sebby today, it is very difficult to tell that he has endured such horrendous abuse and neglect.  The blisters and burns are gone from his skin, his hair has grown back, and he has learned to trust people again.  But in 1999 he was a completely different dog.  The person who owned him had never taken him to a vet.  One of his most significant problems was a severe case of demodectic mange that was allowed to fester. When it was finally decided that he should be treated, he was dipped in a kennel dip, which gave him a chemical burn, and then he was left out in the sun to dry (causing a sunburn).  This poor guy had oozing holes all over his body and he was still a baby.

When he came to CSCAGDR, the vet made the following diagnoses:  demodectic mange, emaciation, dehydration, pustular dermatitis, pyoderma, whipworms, tapeworms, hookworms, and anemia.  It was estimated that Sebby had not been fed for 4-6 weeks.  With MUCH work, dedication, and love by the president of CSCAGDR, Sebby lives a fairly normal life.  He will never be what he could have been and his mange is incurable, but he has turned out to be one truly sweet dog.
