Lucie was found trying to cross a busy street and nearly getting hit by several cars. It turned out that she was a "neighborhood stray" being fed by people in the neighborhood, but living on the street, so she was brought into rescue. She is a very friendly girl, loves people young and old, loves other dogs, loves cats, but is learning not to chase them outside. Lucie likes to chase shadows and play flashlight tag. She does dig some in the yard. She loves to get pets and is housetrained and crate trained. She is not aggressive at all, but will protect her food or treats, so should be fed separately until she adjusts if she is with another dog. Lucie has learned to live on her own and now deserves her chance to have a family of her own. Could that family be you?
UPDATE NOV.11: Lucie is such a good dog! She is the obsession interest of one of the other dogs here, and has shown such tolerance toward him. She is very patient. We really love Lucie so much, she is funny, happy, charming and loving. We would really like to see her get a home of her own, where she can play ball which she loves and is so good at! She can find a ball in the yard no matter where you hide it! She likes to cuddle and is good in the house. She is an all-around good dog! She has been in rescue too long. Please won't you come and adopt her?

**UPDATE** CSCAGDR has recently discovered that Cody has the ability to alert prior to a seizure. We believe he could be a great asset to someone in the future. However, we do not feel that he has been socialized enough to enter a seizure alert dog program. We are looking for a temporary foster home for him that has the time to socialize him and take him to some obedience classes. His foster home would need to have at least a 6' fence. Please contact us if you are interested in fostering him or adopting him.
UPDATE: January 7, 2007: Unfortunately, Cody still has not found his forever home. He's grown into a gorgeous and BIG (94 lbs.) boy! He adores people, other dogs, cats, and kids. Cody would do very well in a new home that has a "job" for him to do - obedience, agility, therapy work, etc. He is housebroken, crate-trained, and very healthy now. His pictures really don't do him justice at all - he is quite the looker.
Cody was found along the side of the road, scared, emaciated and weak. After some coaxing, we got him into the car and took him home. Despite his condition, he was a typical puppy - play bowing to the other dogs and whining to get in with them and play. He met 9 other dogs without missing a heartbeat and was quite playful. Then, within the first 24 hours, before we could get him vetted, as it was a Sunday, he crashed. Could not get up, stopped eating, didn't move. :( His stools turned to bloody diarrhea. He was found to have hook worms and tape worms. He scraped negative for mange, although his hair was very patchy, and negative for heartworms. The big fear was parvo, as this poor little boy was very ill as you can see in his pictures. A protocol of deworming, fluids, bland diet, metronidazole and then antibiotics was started. The first 24 hours was touch and go, and then he rallied. Cody started eating and then got up and began to walk. By the end of the second day, he was up and moving, and beginning to want to play!! Parvo was ruled out and it seems this little boy was just so starved and so full of worms that he was only waiting for a safe place to collapse! Cody is your typical puppy, and oh, so sweet. He sleeps in the bed at night, with his head on my shoulder. He will be a good family dog, and a great companion for kids or other dogs. Will you please give this loving boy, who has had such a bad start, the home he deserves?

This sweet little baby was one day away from dying in a Greenville, SC gas chamber before being rescued by CSCAGDR. Her breed is a guess. We have no idea what she really is. Whatever it is, she sure is cute! Blondie is an explorer and sometimes finds herself in a bit of trouble :) She has lots of energy and loves to play. She came to us with sarcoptic mange and huge scabs full of pus on her elbows. She is now healthy and ready to go to her forever home.

**UPDATE** Cisco is a sweet and wonderful puppy. He is great with cats (one of the cats is a good playmate of his) and lives with big and small dogs. Cisco loves to snuggle up next to you in bed and sleeps there all night. He rarely gets in trouble and is very well-behaved - not bad for a puppy who isn't even 5 months old yet :) He already knows sit, is working on down, and is being clicker-trained. His housebreaking is also almost complete. The vet originally said he would only be about 35 lbs., but he will be bigger than that. His face is adorable and he knows how to use it :)
This sweet little baby was one day away from dying in a gas chamber at a Greenville, SC shelter before being rescued by CSCAGDR. We have no idea about what breed he is, but he is sweet and cute as can be! He loves being around people and he is also pretty calm (that's good for a puppy) :) He really is a snuggler! Cisco has already come a long way since he got here. He had pyoderma, hair loss and was really underweight. He is now happy, healthy and ready for his forever home.

Poor Bandit. First his family dumped him in a high kill, gassing shelter. Then, the rescuer who agreed to take him from the shelter at the 11th hour didn't come to meet his transport. As the driver of the next-to-last leg of the transport, I took Bandit home to our already over-full rescue. Unfortunately, he isn't a big fan of cats outside and so I had to keep him completely contained. Bandit never complained about being separated or contained - he was just so happy for any attention or time he received!
While he was here, we worked on his massive ear infections, skin issues and kennel cough. After getting him healthy, it was clear that he couldn't stay here and be so isolated. We put out a plea, and found a temporary boarding situation for him with another rescuer. Bandit desperately needs a forever home or another rescue that is willing to take him. This poor, sweet boy has been passed from place to place to place. He needs some stability.
