Gabby was sent to a shelter due to the divorce of her owners. She witnessed the violent beating of her owner by her husband. When she finally got to CSCAGDR, she would not show any emotion for a very long time. She wouldn't play with toys or wag her tail. She would just stand around with her tail between her legs. Gabby has been adopted and currently lives in Ohio with her "sister" Sadie, the Golden Retriever. Gabby receives treatment for numerous medical problems including pancreatic enzyme insufficiency, pyloric sphincter disorder, incontinence and spondylosis. She has changed from an underweight, high-strung, nervous dog to a well-proportioned, mellow, laid-back, well behaved dog.
UPDATE - JUNE, 2003: Gabby and Sadie passed the test and received their TDI (Therapy Dog International) certifications!!
